I added the "koine" to the title because I was getting so many negative comments from native Greek speakers, so I just wanted to clarify in the title that I wasn't doing the modern Greek alphabet

My Greek teacher made me listen to it in the first year, to introduce Greek. I'm now in the second year and we need to learn and repeat the alphabet. Of course I use this song!

Very good. I am trying to teach my 2y old son the Greek alphabet ( as he already knows the English one ) and as a Greek myself, i can say that it is the best song found and the closest you can get to the accurate pronunciation!

First, I'm a Harry Potter lover too! I'm not an archaeologist, but I am a Biblical scholar and teach Biblical Greek. My pronunciation is correct for Koine Greek. But Greek changed over time and modern Greek is different today.

Saying "eye" for pie, phi is an anglicization/americanization of the pronunciation. Hope this helps!

For the nay-sayers, Berkley also has a site for the sounds of attic Greek. This is pretty much the Erasmian method. Search for "berkley attic greek pronunciation"
