These guys are national treasures! We need to thank them.. Honor them... Celebrate them. Great American songwriters, NOT punk rockers! They're more folk, country, blue grass, and rock... This is an amazing song!

John Doe is so criminally underrated. I'm happy I got to meet X in all places, Denny's, the morning after an X, blasters, and Los Lobos show in San Diego. John wasn't there, though. Got to meet him at a book signing in Solana Beach a couple of years later. Always at an X show when they're playing here in SD or Orange county. They are the absolute best.

I sometimes find it hard to believe the countless times I've seen X in over 40 years. This song is always been a favorite.

This band's music has been part of my life for 30 years and they always will be. John Doe and Exene are national treasures. I can't believe how many people don't know who they are. I can't even put into words how much I love this band. If they come to your town, just fucking GO SEE THEM. You won't regret it.

I wil never forget all the times I went to see you play! The most unforgettable is the night I told my parents I was going to see Rocky Horror (So I could stay out late)...only to jump in my car and drive to LA from Carlsbad to see you. You Rock! Doesn't matter how old we get, you will always ROCK!

John Doe is up there with America's greatest rock artists, and Exene is such a unique voice. Might be my favourite band...

X is just such a great American band. Great singing, great playing, great songs. No one else sounds like them.

X, A truly great band, with by far the greatest name of any rock band ever. And I just love Exene.

This is probably the only Youtube video of a band I really love, that the comments were all very respectful and cool. This makes me really happy, because I really love this band, and all of the respective members. :) Thank you!

Relevant as hell in 2016. Thank you X. John is still one of my favorite American singers.

These lyrics were right on in 1987, still relevant in 2011, and today the song and the interview resonate more than ever. Things are not lookin' up.

Yep, I grew up with this band and at this point we have to say that we are at least middle-aged, if not OLD. Thankyou, photograpers, for capturing all of the age spots and wrinkles on faces. good job! It's real.

My introduction to X was the See How We Are Album, and I felt it was mind-blowing, with See How We are and 4th of July changing my world, among many other songs, albeit with a different lead guitarist. When I finally got to hear them live at First Avenue it was great, but soul crushing, my introduction album was without Billy, their standard lead guitarist, and they didn't play a single song from that LP that brought me to them. If I have a chance to hear them again, I will drive across the divide. I have grown to love dissonance.

When John at 2:26 sings "draw your bath and comb your hair" I cry everytime. 😢😭😭

John Doe is so talented. He reminds me of Levon Helm in that he can sing/act, do anything and be great at it with so much presence. dang
