The game is on 5 systems and only cost like $15-$20. Just play the game, it's more cinematic than the movie, 32 hours of story, feels like you're part of the adventure and not watching it.

Love this game, love Alicia Vikander. People have been saying they picked the wrong actress for Lara; but when the actress herself loves the character and dedicated to the role like Alicia, it’s makes it so much better. Can’t wait for the movie!!

The game looks more gritty and Lara looks scared in it, showing her vulnerable state as she begins to become hardened. The film just looks more action packed over character.

in the games, Lara is portrayed by Camilla Luddington, she should also star in the the movie as Lara, and not Alicia Vikander. just my opinion.

So her real life boyfriend played Assassin Creed which is a video game movie adaptation that flopped, and now she's doing the same.

I was really looking forward to the film based on the idea that it would follow fairly similar beats to the remake of the game, which they look like they are trying to do a little of. However they seem to have sacrificed the grit and (minor) horror of her situation to make it more audience friendly and action packed. I'll still watch it at some point but I think they've missed a trick by not going for a really hard and ordeal heavy adventure story and by smoothing the edges off new Lara.

The film is based on Tomb Raider 2013.
The inexperienced Lara, who is an innocent student, has to fight for survival. She gets badly wounded at first and is then forced to kill for the first time. This is really a slap in the face for anyone who has played the game. Where is the struggle for survival? Where are the emotions? Neither fear nor helplessness or grief can be recognized. The actress may be good, but that simply cannot work.

I really hope this movie is just going to be a straight to DVD release and not going to show in theaters. It's very embarrassing that the video game Lara looks much better than the real life one.

Finally a movie that actually adapts the story from the game. I never played Tomb Raider but I'm still glad they're doing it this way.

I don't really get the point of this movie, nor any video game movie. They're just copy pasting the cutscenes from the game, why not just, I don't know play the game?
