Gary Kasparov is one of the most intelligent humans on the planet today... And a superb strategist... Now is the time to take his advice...

“When you fight for principles there is nothing to negotiate…” Garry Kasparov

The most logical person I've heard since this war started. Listen to him. Period.

Kasparov: 'When you fight for principles, there's nothing to negotiate'. Great point.

Gary Kasparov knows what he is talking about. People need to listen to him and not be bullied by Putin.

This guy could have stayed in Russia as a celebrity and national hero, but instead he challenged Putin for his brutal oppression. This guy is a hero for everyone who played chess and is a hero for human rights.

For the benefit of some younger readers Gary Kasparov was a Russian grandmaster in chess and the world champion for a decade. He has spent the later years in his life as a humans rights advocate.

Our leaders need to listen to this man

Thank you, Mr. Kasparov for standing up for human rights in Ukraine and around the world. The moment that we are not willing to stand up for decency is the moment we choose to live in fear.

"Not only an aggressor must be defeated on the battlefield, he must be seen to be defeated by his own people." Then the situation arises when a dictator finds it almost impossible to retain power.

He is correct. We've had all these weapons in our militaries for just such a war as this, and when it came, what happened, we sat on our hands for a time, almost in a state of denial that this is the war we were supposedly prepared for, then slowly getting off our seats to release a little bit here, a little bit there, rather like a parent holding onto the goodie bag for a bit and then giving out a few lollies here and there. We were cowed by Putin threatening us, but that is his play book. We should have learnt not to take notice of that long ago. Getting off our seats a long time ago and giving Ukraine the weapons and training it needed early on would have saved so much of the lives lost and destruction done, and if there is one thing Putin understands and bows to it is the strength of a powerful response. Because of the way we did respond he sees us as weak. And that is not a good thing for Ukraine, or for us.

World Chess Champion: 1985–1993 (undisputed) It would be good for us to listen to the sound advice from a master of strategy.

He is soooo right!!! Thank you Garry! Especially our German politicians and most people here in this country should listen to you!

I love this man — he has clear mind, passion and he puts it as straight as it can be. Well done! Totally agree with Garry Kasparov.

This man knows what he is talking about. How we got here is irrelevant, all that matters is going forward by pushing putin out.

Such smart, clear minded Kasparov!, I can only wish we had people like him in power, not appeasers that think if they keep trying to be friends with a bully they won’t be beaten.

It's a sad day when Americans need to be told by a former Soviet Citizen, just to stand up against Russian Imperialism...

He needs to be introduced as Chess legend Garry Kasparov.

This guy needs to be on more news shows because he understands Putin probably better than a lot of other people.
