Love the Bladerunner sample. Not his best album but this is a strong track.

Loved this song when it was released - but the image he had here was completely mismatched with the sound. I get it that he found the Berserker make-up tiresome to apply, but this would have gone better with Strange Charm or New Anger.

The set's great (though I can't help thinking how uncomfortable it was for musicians during the lighting effects), the look's very dandy but you can easily see why he didn't appeal to anyone except the shrinking number of his ardent fans at this point. The "swollen tongue" singing is laughable, the music's uninspired and leaden, the self-centered lyrics about his "hunting" by the press are boring and stale (for umpteenth time, for God's sake! Even Adam Ant came off it after a year or so). He also apparently had a severe problem with lyrical ideas - this "new anger" line resurfaced in 1988 in a new single, and suchlike examples are numerous, as if he had a limited vocabulary or was unable to sing about more than a strict set of topics. Really he was his worst enemy at this time. Possibly should've worked with more people who might've kept it fresh.
