This is hard for me because i absolutely love dressing modestly and feminine. I love dresses and am always on the look out for a good quality piece. But on the other hand I never feel beautiful to my husband. He has struggled with lust in the past and I feel like nothing I can do or put on or change about myself will ever feel enough for him. And then after having a baby my body has stretch marks and saggy skin and he is never excited about my body anymore. It’s heartbreaking because no matter how much weight I lose I can’t change some of these things about my post partum self. Even when I do feel beautiful, it’s so discouraging when he doesn’t think the same. I’ve been praying that God heals his mind and gives him new eyes for me whether in the bedroom or when I dress up. Pray for me as well if you see this❤️

Modesty has a lot more to do with the condition of our hearts than with the specifics of our wardrobes.

Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

You can be a “Proverbs 31” woman and still wear pants, leggings, a baggy t shirt, etc. I completely agree that you shouldn’t be going out in public with your boobs and butt hanging out and keeping modesty in mind but I don’t think the standard of being a good Christian women should be equated with a “Little House on the Prairie aesthetic” or any certain “aesthetic”.

You can be tattooed from head to toe, you can be a homeless woman on the street wearing what she has, you can be a woman attending church on Sunday in workout attire and still be a Proverbs 31 woman and a woman pleasing to the Lord.

I say all this in love and respect but it seems a bit damaging to set forth this certain clothing and lifestyle aesthetic woman should be following to be considered a godly woman.

I think it's important to remember that these are her convictions. If you feel the need to leave a mean comment or whatever, reflect on those feelings.

I think modesty is something overlooked by women. Modesty is beautiful...and it is a look you will never regret. You'll never look back and say, "I wish I was less modest" 😅

Surprisingly, I’ve found high quality natural fiber dresses at Target, Kohls, and even Amazon. I have a gorgeous linen maxi dress from Kohls! The only catch is that you really have to dig and read the labels carefully to find them—they’re usually not the ones displayed up front.

I just wanted to say how thankful I am for your channel. I’ve been following you since the early days of YouTube. I’ve been a Christian for 11 years, and over that time, I’ve had moments where I truly felt the Lord calling me to modesty. I would follow His leading for a while, but somehow I always ended up getting pulled back into the world of fashion and trends. I’ve allowed myself to be easily influenced, even by other women at church who dress in a more worldly way. I would justify my choices by comparing myself to them.

About a year ago, I stopped wearing dresses and wasn’t dressing as modestly as I had been. Recently, my kids asked me why I don’t wear dresses anymore and when I might start wearing them again. Then my mom, who is very worldly, gave me a beautiful dress and told me how much she loves when I wear dresses. Around that same time, your modesty videos started showing up on my feed, and I’ve been binge watching them while doing things around the house.

They’ve deeply convicted me. I’ve realized that along with letting go of modest clothing, I also lost a kind and gentle spirit toward my husband. I can see now how those things go hand in hand for me. This past week, I’ve been praying, repenting, and asking the Lord and my husband for forgiveness.

The Lord is truly using you, Milena. I’m so thankful for the few Christian women’s channels like yours that are still standing firm. It feels like so many are shifting in a different direction lately, but we desperately need this kind of encouragement and truth today. Your reminders matter more than you know.

Because of you I'm finding my way with God. I was an atheist and I really regret now. Thanks for your beautiful heart. Blessings from Mexico (:

I think it’s important to be confident in what you’re wearing. I love dresses but I also love jeans and baggier shirts or linen pants. Dresses sometimes feel way to open and exposed for what I need when a t shirt and pants work just as well. But after have a c section and two kids jeans don’t always feel comfortable so dresses or skirts are great. I love this video and I love hearing your thoughts behind all this. But I also think you can totally be modest with pants and a shirt.

Love this! ♥️
Can you talk about modesty in lifestyle as well? I feel like a lot of Christian creators focus on modesty in clothing but nobody talks about modesty in lifestyle, finances, and our homes! For example, a common question: is a million dollar home “modest”? Is a home adorned with chandeliers and extra/unnecessary decoration “modest”? If we dress modestly to honor the Lord as well as not stumble our brothers in Christ, wouldn’t the same be true for our homes? Would it cause our fellow brothers/sisters to stumble and be more likely to over consume or struggle with jealousy? If we have extravagant home, etc - however, if modesty is solely about heart posture, and if our posture with an extravagant home is to just be able to host a lot of people, but it still causes others to stumble, how is this different than having a pure heart/not having bad intentions at all while wearing let’s say a tank top or a shorter dress in Texas Summer?

These are all genuine questions and just opening up a discussion on modesty outside of clothing! ♥️♥️

I too am in my child bearing years and just naturally stopped wearing pants because of the fluctuating weight. Now in my nursing phase I tend to wear dresses that are easy access to the chest.

Thank you for this detailed tour of your wardrobe. The way you and other Christian women I've seen online has truly inspired me to shop and dress with more skirts, dresses, & natural fibers. I loved the podcast you did with Joana Sosa. I studied fashion in school and the classes about global textile supply chain and manufacturing definitely had an impact on how I wanna utilize the clothing market for good and not harm vulnerable populations with cheap labor.

The first step to wear more dresses for me was starting at home. If I did chores in a dress at home I found it easier to step out the house already put together. Getting dressed in the morning weather I leave the home makes being more feminine a natural way of being. I even go hiking weekly with my kids in a dress.

I love dresses! My biggest hurdle is getting over the fact that hardly anyone I know or am around wears dresses. Thanks Milena ❤

I started wearing dresses a year ago after I gave birth and got pregnant pretty much back to back. It’s crazy because I also used to dress extremely immodestly and somehow didn’t ever feel pretty. And now I wear my dresses and I feel elegant and pretty not to mention extremely comfortable❤

Milena, it has been such a joy to see your transformation over these last couple of years! I used to follow you, about 3 years ago, and ended up unfollowing because I felt like I didn’t align with your values. Now I so enjoy watching you and seeing & hearing the work the Lord is doing & has done in your life!

This morning I thought about the women I want to be and have been diving deeply into my faith for 5 years now. I love your videos and originally found you when I was pregnant with my first son and watched all your videos on pregnancy! I love your style and the way you’ve embraced your womanhood. I went on a binge today watching your videos all day while I was doing my housework. And was scrolling through looking for something about the way you dress and how you made this beautiful transition, and this one pops up. God works in beautiful ways. Thank you Jesus! God bless you and your family and thank you for all the amazing content 😍🥰

I love seeing this shift of women embracing their femininity, dressing modestly and wearing exclusively dresses! This is a journey I embarked on 3 years ago now and I’d never go back! Wearing dresses is so easy and so fun. Such a simple way to embrace our femininity (you’re right in saying some dresses can be totally immodest)! I love wearing midi/maxi length dresses with shirred bodices and puff sleeves. It worked for me pre baby, pregnancy and now postpartum and breastfeeding. Curating my wardrobe this way allowed me to wear the same clothes before, during and after pregnancy without having to buy new clothes or pregnancy specific clothing. I’m tired of this narrative that a) dresses are for special occasions and b) dresses are impractical. Sure, if you’re wearing some skin tight dress it would be impractical haha but like you said, you really can do everything in dresses! The same way women 100 years ago did everything in dresses and skirts. Gardening, cleaning, cooking, mucking out chicken coops, walks, playing with my baby… all easy peasy in a dress!

Thank you for being a voice with your platform for the glory of God, so many big christian youtubers don't speak out on things that matter like you do, I have no doubt this is why God has given you this platform and blessed your household greatly <3 Love from Australia!

Hi Milena, there’s a book that came out this year that may interest you, called, “Fig Leaves are not Enough.” All about Christian modesty. It’s great. God bless you and may God continue to bring you closer to Him.

In my opinion, it's easy to wear dresses and skirts during summer and look very cute and feminine. However, I struggle in the winter. I feel like dresses and skirts tend to look very odd when you're trying to stay warm. Finding the right coat and boots are very hard unfortunately. This is why I stick to wide leg/baggy jeans or wear tighter jeans with oversized sweaters in the colder months. I wish someone could post a winter lookbook for dresses and skirts, and I'm talking about 30 degree weather, which requires more than just a cardigan and leggings to stay warm.

All of the points you made is why I changed to all dresses too!! It’s so easy to pull myself together in a dress. The only difference between us is my curves are more up top and finding tops I felt modest in was basically impossible unless they were very oversized. Dresses have been soo helpful with this.

Your journey has inspired mine. I now rarely wear jeans and am growing my dress collection, and they’re child bearing years friendly 😍
