To address the lock when folded just tighten the bolt holding the blade. It won't open unless you make it open

I use exactly this saw when I go outdoors.
To process some firewood for my volcano stove or a small campfire, I seldom need to cut more than 4" diameter wood, so this small but sharp saw is the best choice for my requirement.
Also love the fact that replacement blades in this size are inexpensive and seldom necessary: even if You hand this saw to someone who don't know about the proper use of a pullsaw, this short blade is almost immune against bending.

I have a little larger Silky and I love it. I didn't know they came that small.

Great review, thanks for posting. This does seem like a great little tool to compliment my silky big boy. This is also a great intro tool for my 4 year old.

Seems to me if you always keep the dang little saw in its CASE, like you should... unless you get a nice little leather case... there should be no issue regarding your not liking that the saw will not lock closed.
Buddy, use some common sense there. ;-)
