Nice logical fault finding sequence. Good to see you testing all the circuits out and going into the appliance for a deeper investigation of the fault.

That was absolutely brill. very educational, really good to see the sequence involved in fault finding. IM only a novice in my electrical journey but i found you to be a blend of extremely likeable, with a dash of humour and super explanations. what you did also that no other youtubers do is give a good summary at the end. I found this to be the extra mile that others dont do. sometimes I might not pick up what your saying during the actual job so a recap I was very impressed with.keep up the excellent work. These videos are such a valuable resource. Well done.

Great video, thank you. Really helpful is also the summary at the end. Neat

Ive had a couple of times a suspect rcd that wouldn't trip even with the test button. It turned out to be a neutral to earth fault on the 6mm feeding the hob.
Unusual because as we all know, that that kind of fault WOULD trip the rcd !!!

As someone that’s studying for the BS 7671 exams along with other exams, i find this helpful af👌🏻along with the funny edits here and there makes the video’s class😂keep up the good work mate! Helping me out a shit ton!

Thanks for the video. Anything on fault finding is good for me.

Why would two RCDs in series trip together, after around 24 hours powered? But when there was only one RCD it did not trip! I didn't find a large current imbalance nor any ground currents. Any tips?

How do you take the neutral out. Do you mean the main neutral lead to the isolator or each circuit individually

Do you mean parallel resistance between three elements?

The resistance changes on the element when heated

Hey mate in this situation, before taking the oven apart, would it be worthwhile testing earth leakage on each circuit protected by the rcd? Possibly other circuits could have too many milli amps of earth leakage combined from appliances to cause intermittent tripping? great vid!

Great video pal🎉 Forgot to ramp test RCD..

Very interesting video and I subscribed, the background music though spoils it. Please consider omitting it in the future.

Hey dude

Resistors in parallel explains the low “cumulative” IR

1/RT=1/R1+1/R2….

Nicely done

How would 0.8M Ohm I.R. trip an RCD ? 230/800, 000 = 0.0003mA. Watching to end, you advise that expansion during oven heating may lower the IR, plus good point about parallel paths 1/R1 + 1/Rn = 1/ Rtotal.

Most useful, thanks. I have EXACTLY the same problem (cooker tripping the RCD when in use). I am going to get the cooker checked by an approved appliance engineer. You have done a (middleman) electrician out of a job somewhere...😃

Why not do an earth leakage test first. To see what appliance is leaking the most current. ?
