I live at the bottom of one of those mountains, right below Boone in Lenoir, NC. I know plenty of people up in the mountains, and I also know even more people who have friends and family up there.

Let me tell you now. They are becoming very pissed off, and millions of people now see how irrelevant the govt actually is. Locals are helping locals, and private citizens are also coming in to help. The only thing govt is doing is trying to physically stop the donations and volunteers. I wouldn't be surprised if this starts a real movement against the US govt. Trust is at 0. When these mountain folk get back on their feet, watch out.
