I had bells palsy at work, I thought I was having a stroke. I couldn't move the right side of my face for 2 months. Thankfully I made a full recovery

Please be aware that Bell's Palsy is NOT temporary for everyone. Everyone's journey is different as well. Some people have a lot of pain, some do not. It is not simply caused by stress either. I was 3 when I was diagnosed, and I've had it pretty much my entire life.

My son has had Bell’s palsy since 2006, our local doctor wasn’t interested in helping said it wasn’t that serious, but my son was devastated, it completely changed his personality, and was bullied at school, he still has it today.

I’ve had it for 12 years I got it when I was pregnant with my son it’s painful to be around others because they can’t help but notice it . I wear sun glasses to cover it but the face is the first thing people see so I don’t like to be around people because I always catch them starring it hurtful . I’ve been avoiding pictures, videos party’s for years . Bell’s palsy is a permanent on me . I went to the doctor The consultation was $400 the doctor told me I needed surgery but it’s $40, 000 cash I’m trying to save but that’s a lot of money and I have my 3 kids so I’ll put that dream aside 😔 Anyways just venting.

I’m born with Bell’s palsy and man, every now and then I think about how everyone takes being able to have a normal smile and raise both eyebrows for granted.

** I truly hope someone can read this & gain hope** but you WILL BE OKAY. I remember when I first got it.. I was super down and scared. But I knew eventually it would go away. Staying positive is the first step. I first got it December 13th 2022. Now it’s Jan 5th and I’m about 90% healed. Take your medication, take your b12, run hot water on your face (every single) shower, do face exercises, massage your face & stay positive. That’s what I did. Don’t just sit around and let it run it’s course. Doing those little things HELP TREMENDOUSLY.. If you want it gone sooner than later then you have to go above & beyond. I even got acupunctures done. You’ll be okay I promise. Hopefully this helps someone 💛 you’re beautiful!

My dad had Bell's Palsy and it isn't painful, just weird to not be able to move one side of your face very much. He just woke up with it one day and then almost 6 months to the day, he woke up and it was gone. His face was completely back to normal and it never happened again.

I was diagnosed with bells palsy like 6 years ago. I still have muscle tightness on one side of my face but people don't really notice until I point it out. You never really get 100% control of the affected side.

I developed Bell’s Palsy after I gave Birth to my baby, within a 2 month period I have made a very good recovery. I am probably 90% better. I would love to make a video about it so that people who currently have it can be more hopeful that BP can be a temporary condition.

I’ve had Bell’s Palsy twice now. I had it when i was 14 & I had it again when i was 18. The first time it wasn’t painful at all but the second time around my facial muscles on the effected side were so painful. Both times I fully healed in about 2-3 weeks.

I’m shocked he never even mentioned about vitamin B 12, Which helped me tremendously with my recovering from BP. Btw, acupuncture also helped me to recover.

I got Bell's Palsy after chronic stress from a prior job. I believe it's inflammation from the stress. I read an article about Angelina's Bell's Palsey, and it said she had hypertension as well. I, too, had hypertension before getting Bell's Palsey.

I have Bell’s palsy AGAIN. I had it at 14, recovered in about 3 months, I would say I was like 95% recovered, there was times when my face would twitch and feel numb, and then time when I would make a certain facial expression and my eye wouldn’t open all the way. Now I’m 23 and have been having it for 1 month and 2 weeks. It really sucks. 100% would say it is stress related for me. First time it happened my grandma died and I didn’t want to show anyone how sad and hurt I felt, so I feel like me holding in my emotions is what caused it. And this time around I had a panic attack after holding in my emotions again, and the entire night my neck was hurting and I woke up with a numb feeling in my tongue and slowly throughout the day my face was becoming paralyzed

I was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy about 4 years ago when I was 23 it took me about a month to recover from the side of my face being paralyzed, but I still struggle til this day. My face has never been the same since then. I wish my face would fully go back to normal but I don’t think that will ever happen.
