Duets we’re played by couples who were familiar with each other, it wasn’t appropriate to make this request, marianne was behaving appropriately it was mrs Jenkins that was wrong in this situation putting both of them in an uncomfortable situation. Marianne was perfectly correct. She knew that Mrs Jenkins was trying to match make, and she made Marianne feel uncomfortable...and probably the Colonel was embarrassed too. Mrs Jenkins was in the wrong.

I just watched an interview of Kate Winslet and she expressed how she was shaking when she first met Alan Rickman on set.
You would never know that she admired him so much with how she behaves towards him in most scenes. Just shows what a great actress she is. ❤️ She didn’t let her intrusive thoughts in haha

I only wish Jane Austen was alive to see this remarkable film. I like Pride & Prejudice, but I fell head over heels for Sense & Sensibility. Mrs. Thompson brought the book to life writing this script. I never knew the facets of love and heartache until I watched this film.
