Great video and commentary! I was the Senior Project designer for Petco Park. It is still my favorite ballpark that I worked on. Mike

As a soccer fan - not knowing anything about baseball - from Germany, I saw 2 games at Petco on a once in a lifetime trip visiting family in SD last year. I absolutly loved it! And I miss it!! Great Video!

I work at a restaurant a block from the stadium, I really take it for granted now but I really can't complain. went to a game with a friend who's not even a huge baseball fan but the vibe inside can't be beat and he loved it

As a 25 years season ticket holder with the Padres, and a peanut vendor while in High School at the old Jack Murphy Stadium (later Qualcomm), Petco is the number one ballpark of all the MLB ballparks that I have attended. Design, food, sight-lines, location, weather, fans, surrounding vibe and fun, huge video score board, media, entertainment, it all adds up to the best baseball experience beyond the Padres themselves. I rate the SF Giants and Pitts Pirates parks as my #2&3, with Wrigley and Fenway as the baseball history buff nirvana locations. The newer Yankee stadium was only Ok, as old Yankee stadium while dated had far more charm and the Mets new park nice, but not a lot around it. Coors field and Camden yards are very cool parks and from the early design generation of today’s newer parks. Coors was cool as it had a lot to do around it in the LoDo area of Denver. Shout out to Safeco in Seattle as another new gen park that was well done. The Oakland colosseum is the absolutely the worst ballpark as I think one of the last multiuser stadiums still around as the Big A in Anaheim was remodeled to an all baseball layout years back and made it a decent ballpark vs. the the old stadium layout they shared with the Rams. Chavez Ravine is a historic park to have a Dodger dog in, and to be able to once upon a time listen to Vin Scully call the game, but just cannot hold a candle to the newer generation stadiums that have wide aisles, open plazas, and much more modern amenities. The old candlestick ballpark in SF was one of the coldest locations to watch a ball game in, especially with the chain link centerfield fence open to the very cold bay winds that blew into the park that had to cost Willis Mays 100 HR’s playing there. Well that my thought of the ballparks I have experience and Petco is my #1!

That is a stunning ballpark! I really dig the open layout in the concourse. The bacon wrapped glizzy looked very tasty too lol

I grew up there as a kid and went to Minor League baseball. Got to see the Padres first MLB series with the Astros in 1969

Baseball fan from Sweden here. Petco Park is in every aspect a GREAT baseball park, from location to architectural design. Great atmosphere and cool, friendly people. Definitely on my Top 3 list of the American baseball parks I've visited.

Great Video of a Fantastic Ballpark. As a San Diego Padres fan, I'm a bit bias, BUT when it first opened in 2004, I wasn't as bully on it. I thought it was a bit sterile and too clean, but it has a lived in feel now that is awesome. I have been to 26 other new and old MLB parks around the country, and it really is one of the best. I will be watching more of your videos!

You missed the awesome bar on the top floor of the western metal supply co. building!!!! Rarely lines for drinks and they have a bunch of pool tables, tv's, and great vibes. Awesome vid man!

As now a dinosaur, I watched the Padres when they were minor league at Westgate Park when Mission Valley was basically a park, not a concrete jungle. At the time, Westgate was considered one of the best ballparks in the country. It had laid back good vibes like Petco today.

It is the first video I see on this channel, which has been to my liking. Hopefully soon you will be encouraged to visit the stadiums in Mexico; to the 18 baseball parks of the Mexican Baseball League (which is the summer circuit) and to the 10 parks of the ARCO Mexicana Del Pacífico League (which is the winter circuit), I'm sure you can get a pleasant surprise.

Thanks for the overview. Hoping to go to my first game at Petco in the next couple of weeks and this video was timely for my planning.
