Drone footage shows rescue efforts in China's flood-stricken Henan province

Rescue efforts continued in parts of China's Henan Province on Thursday after heavy waters flooded streets, subway lines, farmlands and more in the country's central region. The death toll has risen to 33.

In Zhengzhou, the province's capital, heavy machinery and rafts were used to ferry people to emergency responders, with floodwaters still at waist height or higher.

While in Xinxiang City, drone footage showed flooded river banks and farmland in an area that recorded 812 millimetres of rain between Tuesday and Thursday, shattering meteorological records.

Heard China has 98000 dams. Largest in the world. All built in 80s. 2 broke yesterday in inner Mongolia. Some of them higher than 200 meters. Some of them waiting to break. That would be human catastrophic on massive scale.
