Umbanda Inside - Trailler with english subtitles

The feature film documentary "Umbanda Inside" follows the rites and preparations for the "Old Black Day”, one of the most important celebrations of Umbanda in Brazil. The religion Umbanda is presented by members of the "Casa de Caridade Pai Jacob do Oriente", founded in 1966 by the medium Joaquim Camilo and his wife Maria das Dores Moura, and located in Vila Nosso Senhor dos Passos, at neighborhood Lagoinha, Belo Horizonte.

The documentary follows the period before the party, and brings to light the liturgy around the preparation and celebration of this special day to Umbanda, a religion that carries all the syncretism of diverse influences and religious matrices that make up the Brazilian cultural strenght. Directed by Célio Dutra, the documentary is a co-production of Panfonica Film and Video and Acanga Movies.
