🇭🇲🦘 A very fitting tribute indeed to the memory of Robert Sidney on the anniversary of his death. How amazing that his writings were only found in the 1800s and recognised as 'his' in the later part of the 1900's. Thank goodness they were found - at all!

His writings no longer overshadowed by his more famous brother. Thank you very much for reading one of his sonnets 'out loud' for us all to hear and enjoy. You DID do it justice Claire. You so often 'put yourself down' prior to reading out loud some works of note, but I assure you Claire that you DO do them justice, and your efforts are appreciated by many. 👍 cont...

I'm so pleased to hear about this courtier and poet. "Thank you" Claire 👑👍

Claire - Again you have transported all of us with your ventures into Tudor times. It's interesting that out of all the harshness and cruelty of those days, grace and beauty still found their way into posterity through the words of the poets. Can't thank you enough for sharing the Tudor world with us. You are so appreciated!

WOW ! I am a distant relative of this poet... (hence of his brother Philip and sister Mary as well...). They would have lived in: Penshurst Place in the Sevenoaks District, County of Kent... Mary was the Countess of Pembroke ...she was married to Henry Hebert, 2nd Earl of Pembroke. . .
