I prefer the hex bar because there's more room for error. I once pulled a muscle in my lower back doing conventional deadlifts and I struggled getting into my car for a week. Hex bar just feels more natural.

Rather leave my ego at home than feeling like I'm 80.

conventional deadlifts are really good and translates to athletic performance very well too, but trap/hex bar deadlift is better for athletes because it's less technique reliant, feels more natural, etc. I find that if you're good at conventional deadlift already, it might just be as good, the starting stance of conventional literally mimicks that of a vertical jump, but the hassle is just the learning curve that comes along with doing a proper conventional deadlift

I know this is probably not a great but I just hit 265 on hexbar for 3 reps with my friends at my highschool and im really happy now

Hex-bars are more superior, thus being heavier as well and properly aligning your body, so I recommend them for everyone, besides from beginners.

I love this way of deadlifting. It saves your back and helps you lift heavier loads. Believe it or not, my job helped me build enough muscle for a heavier lift than before. 2 years ago, I stopped working out, and I have gained 50lbs from it. My pr was 225 lbs right before I stopped. The first time I walked into the gym after 2 years of no workouts, I managed to lift 300 lbs. It's because the same movement for deadlifting is applied to the big rubber belts I had to lift all day at work for several months. I was very surprised. I know 300lbs really isn't that much, but going from 225 to 300 deadlift without going to a gym is amazing in my opinion

We can also do low handle trap bar deadlift which allow for more range of motion.

I suffer a bad back, so hex bar and squat/lunge machine that’s what I have to use.

i def prefer hex bar over conventional. but oddly enough i pulled something on my lower back while using the hex bar lol, but it couldve been due to a lingering sciatica issue ive been dealing with....

I am a fan of trap bar/ hex bar deadlifts. They feel stronger and natural to me and don't take a toll on my lower back as opposed to straight bar deadlifts. Too bad my current gym doesn't have a hex bar.

I can do 250 on trap deadlift but I’ve never actually tried conventional

I personally prefer the standard barbell deadlift, its harder, works the lower back more, and I feel its better for training your overall health. However hex bar lets you pull more, but if you want a higher vertical, I recommend jump squats. For ‘dashing’ work the glutes.

This is a hexvar squat, not hip hinging. But totally a good exercise

This is a squat. Deadlifting would require hinging at the hips.

Should the head be looking down rather than straight forward?
