So Mailata has since explained what all of this was. Apparently, he was already a little ticked off from when the Eagles played the Saints the year before. He said back then, he felt the Saints played dirty and when Davenport shoved Hurts out of bounds earlier that game (it wasn't flagged and it probably should've), which Mailata didn't take to kindly to someone messing with his QB, he said he made a point he was gonna give Davenport "a little extra" when he had another chance.

What everyone has missed, in Rugby League when you belt someone, the referee will always call you out and tell you to relax. You see JM after the tussle walking towards the ref thinking he was going to be spoken to and then, nothing happened, he casually walked back to the team I found this quite funny, obviously in the NFL this doesn't happen.
