I have had this conversation a few times with my pastor. Being unequally yoked ends in heartbreak and is a waste of valuable time/resources. I’m so tired of the church being blamed for everything. The church does not have a vested interest in women not being married. I know there are great men out there and that example needs to be in the church, period.

I am actually a Black female pastor. I am also an IT Consultant, which means that money is not an issue for me. Though widowed, I would love for single women in the ministry to come upon suitable husbands, even if it meant we would lose them as members. What I would object to is the women marrying men who do not share their values as Christians and men who cannot handle the women’s success. Truly, Sir, all pastors and churches are not alike. As a single black Christian woman, there aren't as many black men in church as black women. This is why we're not getting married. In terms of the church's pockets going down, my tithes aren't decreasing if I get a husband. My tithe is determined by what the Bible says, not whether or not I have a husband.
