I have always though the old lever escapement was somewhat inefficient and tried to think if it is possible to design an escapement mechanism that is more graceful (without the sliding blows to the pallets). I did not realize until today that some genius inventor has already done it. Kudos to Mr. George Daniel.

I still can't understand what is happening.

So what exactly is the advantage of this over the traditional escapement? Why is there no explanation anywhere on the internet or on Omega website??? Tons of people write articles saying how great this is but no one actually explains the advantages of this and how those advantages are achieved.

There needs to be audio. Can't read and understand the visuals at the same time. There's too much going on

I adore George, but I don’t understand this escapement. It just seems like a lot of complication, without proven results?

This cartoon doesn't explain anything.

Every watch manufacturer turned the concept down. Don’t blame them. It was shite. Omega had to slow the movement down to 3.5hz. No sweeping second hand.
