Wendy's Chili | Copycat Recipe

Wendy’s Chili Copy Cat Recipe
Ingredients:
2 pounds fresh ground beef
1 quart tomato juice
1 (29-ounce) can tomato puree
1 (15-ounce) can red kidney beans, drained
1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans, drained
1 medium-large onion, chopped (about 1 1/2 cups)
1/2 cup diced celery
1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
1/4 cup chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions:
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Drain off the fat.
Put the beef and the remaining ingredients in a crockpot.
Cook this in a crockpot on low for 3 to 4 hours.
Serve and Enjoy !!

Hi Marie! My daughter, Mindy, is going to love you for this. She's been addicted to Wendy's chili since she was little! So has her mom! Your instructions are so easy to follow and complete. Draining and rinsing the canned beans cuts the sodium by about 70%, sk good for you! That chili looked SO good when you were dishing it up, I bet your house smelled good too! I can see thus being used on chili dogs snd chili burgers also! Thanks for another great idea! Stay safe!🌈🌈🌈

I think I would have cooked it longer just judging by the onions. Or at least sauté the onions along with some fresh garlic, (lots of fresh Garlic) Also I would add a large can of diced tomatoes and add black beans as well.

Yes, it's an excellent recipe, the only thing is, I cook it in a large pan with a lid for about 1 hour and a half on a low heat, we call crockpots "slow cookers" in Europe but we just don't have the room in our kitchen to store such a large cooking utensil though I have a sneaking suspicion it makes even better Chilli!
Also, it tastes even better after being frozen, don't know why but it does!

looks delicious! One thing to keep in mind, never clip the lid closed while cooking. The clips are for transporting the dish in your car, etc.

I love this recipe! I generally use Spicy Hot V-8 juice rather than the tomato juice. Very good! Not too hot either.

This was delicious. I added about half as much chili powder and cayenne because we like our chili milder. I also substituted one large can of diced tomatoes and about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of tomato juice for extra nutrition. As good as it turned out, I discover that to stretch what was left for leftovers, I added one 10 oz can of Walmart mild diced tomatoes with chili’s and another can of kidney beans. This made it even better. I slow cooked mine on the stove. For extra health, I also used bison. This was as close a version of Wendy’s that I have tried. It is a super healthy dish and by making it at home, you save a ton of money. Thank you! Oh, and your kitchen will smell like heaven!

Thank you putting the complete recipe down. Many others who stated they had copy cat Wendy's chili wouldn't list the recipe nor would they tell the total volume of the ingredients. So disappointing. You must subscribe to their channel to get the recipe. I'm not of fan of scribing bc I have a cheap phone with no memory. Thank you for the recipe and instructions.

I made this chili today and just finished eating a bowl. It was very good. Thank you for sharing your recipe.
I did feel like it needed a little more sweetness, so I added a little more sugar & a couple of tablespoons of ketchup. But I think that depends on everyone's personal taste. This recipe is a keeper. Thanks again.
