Official Boozer Build Thread

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a World War II-era fighter-bomber aircraft produced by the United States. Renowned as a hardy and versatile machine, the P-47 could carry up to 2,500 pounds of external ordnance in addition to its eight .50 caliber machine guns. Propelled by the stalwart R-2800 Double Wasp engine that also powered the F4U Corsair, F7F Tigercat, and many other aircraft, the P-47 was one of the fastest and heaviest single engine fighters of the war, seeing service in all theaters of the war as a bomber escort, reliable ground attack platform, and lethal dogfighter.

We are proud to announce Nexa, our newest brand for quality balsa aircraft with the P-47 Thunderbolt "Touch of Texas", piloted in World War II by Captain Charles Mohrle of the 510th Fighter Squadron, 405th Fighter Group, circa 1944.

The Nexa P-47 is a .46 – .55 size electric or gas option scale series warbird with a 1500mm wingspan, constructed primarily from balsa wood and covered with a fuel-resistant covering. This ARF requires assembly and installation of your choice of servos and power system, and includes flaps, painted pilot, machine gun, antenna and other scale details. The large battery hatch affords ample room for either electric or gas setups. To complete the scale appeal of this beautiful Razorback, the model includes electric retracts and scale struts. Impress at your flying field with this iconic stunner!
Fully Covered and Detailed
The Nexa P-47B comes fully covered in the "Touch of Texas" livery including simulated panel lines, rivets, nomenclature and weathering detail.
Scale Details Throughout
There is no shortage of scale details with this P-47 including functional flaps, antenna, machine guns, painted pilot, electric retracts and metal main struts.

I picked up the Same Aircraft a couple weeks ago. Thank you, for the build information on HobbySquawk. Funny, I had to vote between the three RC Forum names in which we choose Hobbysquawk! An old Indian adage. I'm going to go electric as well. Much cleaner and more reliable. I'm excited to build this model P-47 Thunderbolt. A lot of history with this aircraft. A pleasure to have an RC Model of this caliper. Again, great job with the efforts you both are building in the RC community.

Papa... what you said is exactly where I'm at.. done the larger foamier, done the jets. After watching the unboxing, I ordered mine right away. This is the perfect step up without spending $1000+ for one of the Black Horse planes. Haven't started the build yet, but just looking at it the plane is really nice. Been waiting to see it fly and now I'm motivated to get the build started.

The Razorback P-47 is my favorite. It's the different between a fastback and a coupe!! Well done Boozers!👍 I would've done the same thing as far as the power system. If it wants 4, go with 6, on a plane like this!! Great stuff guys😀😉 AirHammer out!!

Now, how can anyone give this video a thumbs There's always one in the bunch that just can't understand good fun. I'd hope they'd re-think that attitude.

Boozers, what do you think about putting a Saito FG-21 in this Nexa P-47? Any thoughts?

how do u get the machine guns in the wing? It's a solid wing with no entry for the guns. The machine guns are not tubes but actual miniature 50 cals.

Such a great looking Jug and a great price too. Think I'm gonna have to get one, there's just something about a good razorback. One of my favorites.

Did you use the 18x11 or the 17x10 prop? I'm looking to build to the same specs.

Really enjoyed your video that im going to buy one of these planes. It looked really smooth in flight. Im a nitro plane flyer and have been since 1986. However I do have a few electric planes, one of which you recommended to me, the T28 CARBON Z TROJAN BY EFLITE. Love that plane. Ive never had a P47 though but was always looking out for one. Now I think ive found it. Just one question, I have a few 6s 5000 lipos here at home, so was thinking of buying an eflite 60 size motor? Or do you think an Eflite 46 would be better? Thank you.
