Santoku: the Ultimate Multipurpose Kitchen Knife

I love my santoku I bought from the garage sale a couple years ago. Still my go to knife.

I love the wa handles and only own one knife with the wa; all my other stuff is Japanese steel with yo handles. Making me want to go look for more knives

Love santoku but the first chopping technique isn’t very safe as you don’t have proper control of the apio

knife is just ok, you can do that with any knife as long as you sharpen it, but those cutting skills are very nice!

I am team Bunka. Dunno why but just not a Santoku guy and like the k tip on a small knife for tip work.

You should sell cars. You sold that knife effortlessly. I just used a whetstone for the first time on my cheap $1 store knife and I can cut paper so I'm looking for a quality knife. What exactly is the black stuff on the top half of the blade?

Use Japanese knives exclusively, but never like the santoku shape. To me it's the all in one that is good for everything, but not great at anything (except saving money).
