To remove the confusion, Imhotep, right hand of Pharoah Djoser, Architect of the First Egyptian Pyramid and High Priest of Ra is not the same as Imhotep, right hand of Pharoah Seti and High Priest of Osiris from The Mummy franchise. Also, whether people like it or not, The Mummy's Imhotep lead us to the Real Imhotep in a way, which is a good thing. I even got interested in Imhotep after I saw his movie depiction and found the Real Imhotep. He was a man ahead of his time.

All good Yes he was a architect and high priest counselor to the Pharaoh.
But there is no evidence from Imhotep himself or from his time period that he was a physician. The idea of him being a physician came more than one thousand years later when the Egyptians proclaimed him a God of healing.
