Tim managing to replace a turbo with an hour still left on the clock is godlike, there’d be a pile of crumpled beer cans and some choice language being thrown at the car if I attempted that job

Mechanic: "that'll be 43.75 hours book time plus a new engine"
Tim: "hold my downpipe."

Y’all are all natural mechanics, and that’s pretty cool. But ur editor’s ability to condense 3 hours into 10 minutes is scary cool.

I'm actually with Tim on the downpipe. I think that taking off the downpipe cleared a lot of space and made the replacement a lot easier. I think if anything it saved him time not having to smash his knuckles up quite as much getting that turbo back on. ^^ Just my opinion.

Huge improvement guys. I love that you're presenting issues that naturally occur on these cars, and showing that a car that's running doesn't mean it's good to go.

Tim 2 seconds after popping the hood: “I think I need a new turbo”
Everyone: *damn we shoulda made this harder*

Yes, the down-pipe DOES need to come off. It is impossible to pull the turbo without the down-pipe coming off after the intercooler is removed. This is due to the turbo studs on the hot side of the turbocharger connecting to the down-pipe and on the exhaust housing connecting to the up-pipe from the exhaust manifold.

Tim’s a god, I’ve literally never heard of someone who could take a down pipe off and swap a turbo in 3 hours!! That incredible😉

Everyone's faces like "damn, he's good" when he mentions it might need a new turbo. Lol. It's crazy that it only took him 2 hours(plus a 5 min. Test drive) to diagnose, pull, rebuild, and replace a turbo.

Taking the Downpipe off makes it 900% easier to reinstall I’ve rebuilt my ej205 and had the same issue it is definitely smarter to take the downpipe off not harder

When he said he didn't need to take off the down pipe, he's not thinking normally cause of nah that's what allowed Tim to get the turbo off in less than 30 min. Rather have more space to work. Instead of getting my ass handed to me by THAT ONE BOLT. We all know which one we're talking about 😆 🤣

People like TIM need to be in the industry. Hire him because time took to replace that was definitely under man hours. He brings in the money

Everyone’s face when he said “I might need a new turbo” 😂😂

This is a sick series and it's honestly extremely helpful for dudes who aren't mechanics but like to pretend (like myself). Subaru was clean as hell too. Great job, guys.

Tim is such a lucky guy but for the skills and knowledge he just displayed he pretty much deserved the car.. hands down.. RESPECT.!!

this tim dude is amazing. honestly think this should become a permemant series. good to see ordinary gear heads fixing typical issues.

well done guys

I haven’t watched this yet but it’d be hilarious if it had blown head gaskets and a bad timing belt just like every other mid-00’s Subaru ever.

Love the fact that I'm seeing Aaron there. I love it when he's in a series.
