I've been listening to Nemophila a lot lately. They've been dropping singles and EP's. "Odyssey" was a surprise, as others have noted. The recent EP is cover songs, including Metallica's "Master of Puppets" and System Of A Down's "Sugar". But yeah, I've enjoyed "Zen" and everything on that album.

Been waiting to see your reaction to this - and it didn't disappoint ! 🤣
Please do their latest release " ODYSSEY " next - it's COMPLETELY different to this but comparing and contrasting the two songs simply shows their versatility and superb musicianship and I can promise that if you didn't know them you would think the songs were done by two entirely different bands !

When Haraguchi-san, the very talented bassist, composed this song she said it was for quiet meditation. Here is the result. Outstanding! At almost 72 years old, I am the happiest of men because I have just managed to find a place for the Hellfest in Clisson (France from 06/27 to 30/2024) which is 400 km from Paris where I live. And among all the artists (Metallica, Shaka Ponk, Tom Morello, Queens of the stone age, Babymetal, Megadeth, Foo fighters, The Offspring, etc.). And among them on 06/28 there are THE I think the next 6 months will seem long!

Great reaction. Yes this one is one of their hardest ever. Such a great band. I was lucky to see these ladies back in March in Dallas. It was and hour 25 minutes of pure in your face screams growls and melting your face shredding guitars. Tamu on the drums was just killing it as always. They blew the rood off the place and are loud as hell! What is amazing about Nemophila is even as hardcore they can be they still have a few ballads. Game Over off the first album which is pretty heavy in spots with amazing guitar solo. Also life which is a beautiful song. Now I Here off the last album which has another amazing solo section. They have a new album coming out next month named Evolve and there is another ballad named Odyssey they just released friday written for a anime movie coming out next year. If you watch that one your jaw will drop. If you did not know Nemophila you swear it was another band haha. Beautiful songs with Mayu singing sweet and beautiful cleans instead of growls. It is totally like a 80s 90s rock ballad. I always prefer their heavy stuff or hard rock stuff but their ballads here and there are just as good too. Just a amazing band. One of the best. Even though they are mostly metal they can play any damn thing they want they are that good. I usually recommend their majority heavy songs but if you get a chance check out Odyssey. It is a 180 from what they usually do.
