I don't trust the "test optional" policy anymore, as a counselor. I did in the past two years, but I am noticing colleges really want it no matter what from the reps I have talked to.

Another aspect to consider is if you are interested in the university’s honors college program. Invitations to that may be based on test scores, or you may have a greater chance of getting in with test scores (as opposed to an average GPA).

Hi, does the admissions officers compare your SAT/AP scores with the people who are also applying from your school?

I had an 1, 600 two times, and 36 two times. Back in school, I thought I was stupid. Believe in yourself. And go forward!

I got a 1200 on both sat’s I took junior and senior year. I come from an urban school with low resources that has a 3 on great schools. average sat is around 950. I’ve taken 2/6 AP courses offered, and dual enroll in community college courses. I’m first gen and categorized as two or more races, white/hispanic. Should I submit scores to schools like Tufts, Williams, Northeastern, BU, etc?

Should I submit a 1490 (780M, 710R&W) to Cornell CAS? For reference, I go to a private school that sends a handful (30-40) of students every year to T20s. I will be applying as a CS major from California, if that adds any context.

I'm an international student from a crap high school in a rich city, needing financial aid and I got a 1380 on the october sat. should I submit it to t20s or go test-optional? i don't think ill be able to redo it in December. my school ranks in quartile so I'm top 25% but realistically ik im in the top 10% cause I got all A's and took additional subjects. what should I be doing in this case? also my ECs are above average- mediocre range, nothing special but they're not bad

Hi! I just scored a 1450 on the recent October 2022 SAT: 670 verbal and 780 math. Is this score sufficient to submit for NYU, Boston University, or Cornell? Or should I go test optional.

I’m applying to Brown, Yale, UPenn and other top schools with a 1420 superscored SAT. I rank 1 in my senior class and have a 4.5 GPA. Should I submit or go test optional?

Should I submit my super-score of 1430 to Northeastern? I go to a public school but it’s pretty well ranked so I don’t know if the score would help or hurt. I have straight As and got 5s on all my AP exams last year, however, I heard NEUs percent admitted for those who sent it in is higher than those who didn’t
