This Super Mode for Optimus was cut from Transformers 2. Revenge of the Fallen had 1 of the most incredible homages to classic Transformers lore. It introduced Transformers Armada's Jetpowered Optimus to the live action cinematic universe. Where he's giving an extreme boost in power after having Jetfire's remains transplanted onto his damaged body. A power-up that made him double in size. But what if I told you that he was originally supposed to receive upgrades that made him even bigger? That's right, Optimus was supposed to combine with his trailer. Where it woud've not only given him the power to fly and grant him more accessories. But it would also increase his height greatly instead of using Jetfire's legs for stilts. owever, the idea of Optimus combining with his trailer was not forgotten, and showed up on screen in Dark of the Moon. Except this time around Optimus wouldn't receive that growth spert.

I love this version of jet powered optimus. So much cooler with his artillery and then The fact that he was formed using a sacrifice from another bot Just adds a deeper meaning to the whole thing. It shows that he's such a good leader that people were willing to die for him

I remember watching these in theaters. 2007 was HYPE AF. That was the first time other than a few other movies up till then I'd seen animation and CGI that good. Transformers was crazy. Damn be a kid was fun highley. I just wish I was ready to live.

I prefer the power up design we got in the movie

I was such a fan of Armada back then. Mainly because the mini-cons reminded me of Headmasters and Targetmasters from G1. So the Jet Optimus homage made me so happy.
