Florence comes "alive" when she sings. She describes it as almost spiritual communion and you can see that. Love her work, on stage and off, her lyrics are modern day masterpieces of poetry.

The thing I love most about Florence is just the transformation when she’s talking and being interviewed to when she is on stage, its like a completely different person and it’s incredible to watch.


I think everyone would agree that I would love for you to react to a live show of hers just to see the personality and demeanor shift

First time I’ve heard someone talk about the positives of being shy around others. I didn’t know my quietness could actually make people feel better about themselves. This was nice to hear 😊 Love Florence and the Machine, didn’t know much about her personality before, its cool to know she’s quite similar to me

She has talked about having social anxiety. I have it too and she's like my confort person. Watching someone as amazing as her acting the same way as I do makes me feel incredibly good :)

She is amazing live. Saw her at a giant outdoors festival, we were maybe 60.000+ people, and she filled the entire space. Her voice ringing to the back of the crowd and beyond. She totally magicked me, her charisma on stage is wild, like an elf or spiritual creature. I sound mad, but I don't know how else to describe it. Just dancing around the stage in a white flowy dress, belting notes out without ever losing breath or a step.
I remember looking up at the blue summer sky as she sang 'How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful', and me and my friend basically cried our way through the concert, it was so emotional, overwhelming and impressive.
The duality of that performer, with this quiet person being interviewed actually makes alot of sense to me, considering her music.

Florence Welch IS _MAGICK_ : I've met her a couple times and seen her perform live 3 times. At the Joiners Arms Tavern in South London I literally saw her doing spells with her hands while she was singing!
I can't deny I absolutely adore her, I think she's amazing, but also I really identify were her chaos, her intelligence and her incredulity to her own person. She's without question my greatest hero.. In fact, she would be far happier with identifying as anti-hero! Nonetheless, She makes me glad to be a south londoner, to be a destructive mess sometimes, and to also be a God all in my own right. What a joyous person to be counted among the best and brightest humanity could possibly offer. <3 ILY Flo!

I love the mix of silence, vulnerability, being foolish, Party-and-Rock`n Roll-kind- of- badass, stagetruler and fairytale-selfes she effortless is embodying. We all can allow our facets more :)

She’s definitely a shy person especially when it comes to interviews but there are other ones where she’s definitely more comfortable. She’s truly so adorable 😭 hit it on the head by calling her sweet 🥹 it’s just so contradicting tho bc she’s the opposite of who she is when she performs

What a coincidence! The opening line of the song "Girls Against God" from her newest album "Dance Fever" ties into your comment about her being shy about compliments:
"What a thing to admit,
That when someone looks at me with real love
I don't like it very much/
Kinda makes me feel like I'm being crushed".
Also, this is just speculation but maybe one of the reasons Florence was so shy about the festival story is that she was almost certainly very drunk when it happened (and is why she can barely remember it).

Hey Max! Self-deprecation: just being British :), it's a way of life there. But tbh having read Florence's latest interview in Rolling Stone, she strikes me as more than just 'shy'. You don't come up with that kind of stuff without having clearly some issues to work through "when someone gives you real wholesome love, loving the real you, you’re like, ‘Why would you do that? I’m disgusting!’”.
