As the water was still very cold for swimming, we opted to take a boat cruise for 3.5 hours into the Algarve and along the coast. We really wanted to see Benagil cave and it did not disappoint.
You can get into the cave by kayaking or swimming around the rock from the nearby beach, but you should do so only if you are a capable swimmer and wearing a lifejacket. The waves and tide can be pretty strong, so don't risk your life.
