In the second round of the 2021 BMW Championship, Ryan Palmer uses a putter to get out of the greenside bunker on the par-4 18th hole at Caves Valley GC and would go on to make bogey. #shorts

I did that once when I was at Willow springs with my dad. Landed in the bunker and was going to use my pitching wedge. This Colonel was watching and told me to use my putter.
Stopped 2 feet from the hole. Best advice I ever got.

Brookside Country Club in Stockton CA, 17th hole, back left bunker, green slopes away from the bunker toward the lake. I have seen a lot of people opt for putter.

This is a technique use weekly at the club I play for mens league! There are about 5-6 spots on the entire course where it's even doable. The key is to actually pop it off the lip and into the air so it lands soft on the green...

1/4 pipe like bunkers with a good size lip, full swing putter, it'll go 20 ft in the air and land like a flop shot.

i will putt anything out of a bunker if it doesn't have a lip, only a 10 hdcp but ill take a putter that ends up 99% on the green over a chip that will be either 10% better or 90% worse
