I think this is probably one of the few animatics that's genuinely changed a song for me- the upbeat, fast-paced tone contrasted against the nightmarish environment of the apocalypse creates what has GOT to be some of the coolest dissonance I've seen so far. Especially because the lyrics still fit so perfectly- this is their roaring 20's, just desperately trying to stay alive and cope. I love this so much!

The whole theme of the song being “his roaring 20s” with irony fits so well, and is really sad to - because this is Donatello’s (and all of their) “roaring 20s”. Rather than be out having fun and being a young adult, he’s had to struggle to survive in an apocalypse, deal with grief before tragically dying painfully with no end to his suffering. He died before he could be at peace with the fact, before he could say goodbye. His 20s were just fear and fighting with no break until death - until “home”, as the song suggests. He wants to go home, because it means the return to normalcy. He never got there, a true tragedy for him and his brothers, all suffering until the end.



Basically what I’m trying to say is that this is amazing, I’ve watched it like 3 times already and about to watch it again

I love this entire animatic so much, don't get me wrong, but my absolute favorite part is before it even begins. The trigger warning. Like, just look at nerdy ol' Donnie lookin up at the words, breaking the fourth wall as usual, and then he sees the "Implied character death" and he just goes, "Wait what." And then the emoticon is just shoved in his face- It's so lively and Donnie's character is captured so well for such a small moment. It really shouldn't be the best part, but to me it is, because it just has so much life and energy and it's such a cool contrast to the rest of the video and I...

I genuinely think that a bunch of tmnt fans should get together and create a new show ourselves! This is better than most of the actual episodes of any tmnt show I’ve EVER seen! If we all collabed together and made a fan service tmnt show it would be SO DARK and everyone would LOVE IT. More of this, everybody! More of this!

ROTTMNT has been a HUGE hyper fixation of mine for three years and this animatic definitely fuels it
I just love what people come up with for the future alternate timeline and how Donnie and Raph meet their eventual demise

This might have been one of the best animatics that I have seen since one I saw based on the Drumming Song in 2010. Their designs, the song, the story just UGH! PERFECTION!
