It's not all about the artistry, you need to sell sell sell and meet those numbers. I've worked for a Benefir counter for a year, as a counter manager and I hated their policy and traffic stopping which basically means recruiting people in the store, grabbing them and sitting them down and push product down their throat.
I also hated the weekly blah blah blah on the conference calls, what's your plan to push sales for this week blah blah blah blah. How about expanding your makeup line, make decent eyeshadows and palettes, make lip liners, lipsticks and stop making a primer for your primers and then we can talk about increasing sales! Otherwise people will go to the other 5 makeup counters in the store!

It was very interesting to hear the recruitment process from the other side, I have been in my Debenhams before when there was a recruitment day on and I actually found everyone very pushy and the whole experience was quite unpleasant with such a crowded counter. The counter you were at sounds huge though!!

I know you made this video a while ago but i have a few questions as i have an interview on Thursday in newcastle, i just wondered what kind of makeup did you wear to your interview? Was it similar to what you have on now? Did you use only benefit makeup then? Also the woman on the phone said the interview would only last 20-30 mins but there would be something else happening on the afternoon which i wont be able to go to because im at work in my current job then, so would that just be the general interview? Im only 17 and i have had quite a lot of makeup experience but never a 'proper' makeup job, im really nervous any advice would be amazing! (Ps sorry for all the questions☺️)

This is so helpful ! Nice to know the inside of working with "big " companies, I honestly thought people at benefit get stuff whenever they ran out whenever they like, how do you make sure your foundation stays on the whole day ? Like the hot weather what do you do if it melts of ? Xx
