After watching tons of videos to get the best fitting rig that folds up, I went for the GT Omega Sprint after being fully convinced with this video. Thank you so much, Karl! It is a bit of trouble to fold it up each time and bring it back to the spot again because it's heavy, but I have no complaints.

This fit my requirements perfectly:
- folds up enough to save space
- the seat is pretty wide & comfy (unlike Playseat Challenge X as reported in some reviews)
- the seat material is plush, a mix of suede and mesh for breathability for long hours
- decent adjustable length for pushing the pedals out (as I am 5'10")
- multiple options to fit the seat up for a good recline or straight up

Cons:
- the steering bar drops when opened up to move in/out of the seat (biggest issue as also reported in the video above)
- non-adjustable seating after all screws are fitted (not suitable for multiple people using it)
- heavy for daily dragging into storage

Thanks Karl for this video so I could find my perfect seat.

The pouch on the back of the seat is for holding a chunk of lead to prevent it falling forwards when getting out. ๐Ÿคฃ
Great vid as always Karl.

Gt omega always delivers a quality product for a reasonable price unlike other main stream brands. Hopefully they make a playseat trophy like rig as well.

14:59 you could attach an appropriately sized hose clamp on the pipe to stop it sliding down.

That does look to be the best foldable cockpit I've seen yet. If i hadn't already got something more heavy duty, i would have one of these in mind as an upgrade to my old xracer foldable.

FYI if you're tall. I'm 6' 3" and I was able to get another 2.5" of leg room by mounting the plate with the holes, back by one hole. That will leave you with one empty hole at the end of the pedal frame. This will allow you to bolt the front pedal bracket using that single hole(two bolts) at the end of the pedal frame. That will leave the front pedal bracket hanging out the front without the ability to bolt the front holes of the bracket to the pedal frame. But it does not matter because the front pedal bracket naturally is forced down from brake pedal use/pressure. It would matter if it were the back pedal bracket, since that bracket would lift upon brake use. It also has the added bonus of reducing the ability of the CENTER of the cockpit frame to lift during heavy braking, since the pedals are further out. The frame still folds perfectly, and it does not affect the integrity of the cockpit. I have perfect leg room after doing this. Maybe even a little more room than I need.

Note: You are still able to mount the angle plate(plate w/ holes) and angle arm just as you normally would, and it functions as normal, but you mount it one hole back than the directions show. And the pedal tray won't be adjustable/slidable, since the front pedal bracket is mounted to a fixed hole. Any adjustment to shorten it would require you to assemble it as shown in the directions.

FYI I have my Fanatec CSL Elite V2 pedals mounted this way. YMMV depending on your pedal system.

I got this cockpit 3 months ago, same design but different brand, mounted TGT & TLCM.
It is rock solid but heavy. so every time I disassembly the pedals tray before moving the cockpit.
I also put a mad under the pedals tray, it helps to stop lifting up the seat when pushing the brake hard.
And I don't open the wheel bar but just climb in & out

Now I had the idea how hard Karl was pushed in the video, since I never flex my cockpit like he did.

I bought one about a week ago and itโ€™s actually so sturdy and exactly what I needed. Was a bit hard to build for me though

Jut got this rig today. Took ages to assemble. Microscopic, convoluted Instructions. Once assembled, I hooked it up to my G29. I'm 6' 2" height, and the pedals don't go far enough along the pedal tray, even at max; my legs are far too bent for my liking. I also have to have the wheel far too high to avoid hitting my knee on it's support bar. The back rest only serves to hold the lower back and anything above kidney level has no support whatsoever; the seat just inclines away from the upper back. Paint has already scraped off the tubing where the wheel support pivots.

It is very rigid for a fold away, and the wheel felt solid in my hands, and I could brake hard with no noticeable play in the tray. It's also straightforward to fold away and stand up.

I'm not sure how much I can complain for just shy of ยฃ180 inc delivery. I'll hold on to it for a week, to see if there are any adjustments that can be made to make it better. If not, I think I'll have to return it.

[Update]
There's more now, unfortunately. The tubular section, that the wheel deck mounts to slants down to the right, from the seated position, by a good inch or so. When opened, it is level (checked with spirit level on level floor). I checked the vertical tube that the mount swivels on, and it is skewed off the vertical. The only way to get the wheel deck horizontal, is to pull the right side up, with considerable force, whilst clamping it. Another issue is one of the red loops on one of the straps has totally unraveled to nothing, from a loose thread that got hooked on the Velcro.

I have requested an exchange from GT Omega, but have noticed that the Sprint has sold out, so don't hold much hope.

Thank you for the review. Iv got a playseat challenge and iv always thought the seat was too narrow. This is definitely going on my Christmas list.

Thanks Karl....Been watching your review content for a little while, and you always give an honest review of all aspects of the products. Which helps no end on what is worth purchasing.
I want to purchase a rig which allows me to enjoy rallying, but like to be sat more upright than this Omega lets you do... Would you say with this lay back style that you can really attack the pedals and get full immersion in a rally sim?
Great foldable benefits, but always worry that I need to release myself during a rally for a wee break, so maybe a bit of a mission.he heee.
Great content as usual.

Hello and many thanks for the detailed test video. I've been looking for a foldable rig for a while and came across the Sprint through your video.
Unfortunately, it seems that at 1.96m I'm too long for this model, so I'll probably have to resort to the Playseat Challenge X as a compromise.

Hi Karl. Love your videos and the detail and effort you put into them. I was hoping to ask which you would choose between the Sprint and the Victory?

In my opinion, this cockpit has a major design error, which is rotating the base of the steering wheel forward instead of vertically. For those who use the foldable cockpit in front of a desk, this creates a serious impediment to getting in and out of it. The Playseat Challenge solution is preferable for this use.
The general concept is good but I think that little "engineering" was invested in the detail solutions that should improve speed and ease of use. In general, I consider the solutions to be less elegant than those of the Playseat Challenge.
Thank you Karl for bringing us in detail all the proposals that are being presented.

I see they GT Omega have revised the wheel mounting deck and support frame with a squared 3 piece frame now instead of the original tube style.

Iโ€™ve got the Playseat Challenge X and it does everything I need it to for my space limitations. This looks very similar and I can definitely see why you like it so much, Karl. Itโ€™s a good solution to the same problems the Playseat solves. The one thing that I envy in this is the castors. Very nice touch and Iโ€™ve been thinking about trying to attach something similar to my seat for a while. Easier said than done though!! Oh, and I do like the pouch at the back. Really thoughtful touch.
All in all, looks like a great addition to the foldable cockpit market. Well done GT Omega!
