Introduction to Virtual Machines (Cloud Next '19)

In this session, you will learn how to reduce manual effort in deploying and maintaining software on groups of VM instances with help of Managed Instance Groups. Starting with a simple Docker container deployment, you will see how you can build up to a scalable, highly available service. Then we’ll show you how to roll out a new software version using the Auto-Updater feature and how to configure the update for testing, safety, speed, maintenance or minimal disruption. You will also learn how to apply VM rightsizing recommendations to better fit instance shape to your application - and save cost or improve performance.

Loved it. Covered pretty much all the topics under 'Compute Engine', one of the most important components in Google Cloud.

I just had one question. When 'preemtible' pricing is applied, the cost shown comes down drastically, but is monthly. But the machine lasts less than 24 hours. Will the pricing be computed on a per-day basis, at the monthly rate?

Very bad sync between the speaker and the slides. Half the time couldn't really tel what the speaker was talking about/referring to.

JESUS, replace google with something else. I've search for days to find an article witch shows how to get a app and put in cloud, with database, administration panel, DNP mapped and so on. It's pice here, a pice there... it's a nightmare!
