Oh! Davos hasn't been trusted??! You sound like you're surprised...spoken like a real elitist. Why don't you ask the common man what she/he wants instead of meeting in your echo chamber and patting each other on the back?

The economy is split into two tiers now - the financial and the industrial economy. QE (quantitative easing) has flooded newly issued money straight into the finance sector, where they spent up to 92% of it on stock buy-backs and speculation, not investing in the REAL economy, production and job growth. Only a strong fiscal policy will raise aggregate demand.

The FIRE sector (finance, insurance, real estate) are the real freeloaders of society in this neoliberal tollbooth economy.

“What you have today is the economy imagines that the financial sector and the Donald Trumps of the world, the real estate speculators are part of the economy and part of GDP instead of being an overhead, a tumor.” ~ Michael Hudson

Both government and privates banks have the authority to create money out of thin air. We need to say no to monetary (bank) policy and hell yes to fiscal (government) policy. QE (quantitative easing) does nothing but give the gamblers endless cash to feed their fever. Neoliberalism's fantasy economics is over. Time to demand fiscal spending for public purpose again!
