Personnaly, for the tentacle, i just spam the stick like crazy on PS3.
Like, whole hand on stick, and then just move randomly like a madman.

For some reason i find that better for the tentacle. I guess it's all preference.

You got it right by explaining "Mash out of grabs" and "Stair skate." But you didn't mention anything about the instakills "Not die instantly"... were you referring to the deathless map spots?? I've only figured this out today while doing some defense gear testing on hunters. In a certain spot in a room instakills have no effect as long as you stand in that specific spot. So far I've come across two youtubers who've uploaded vids with confusion. Lol

There is a better trick to avoid zombies all together. Run to a zombie when you get too close do a 180° to run the opposite way (the zombie should try to grab you) and then quickly do another 180° and run past him. Works everytime.
I used to run the mansion without a weapon in hand due to this trick.
The thing is, we couldn't do this trick back in the Game Cube but there was the infinite grenade launcher trick so...lol

the thgin for me is: ye i can run stairs faster. But the controlling with the original version is so difficult that i spare so much time when i play modern where staitskating isnt possible
