your video is very interesting and you really have simplified the whole thing for the viewers, the way you have explained the whole thing is easier than how the teacher has explained it, thank you

P.S. - have worked in Seismic acquisition in the past (offshore) - had a great time.

It's been less than 3 years since this was posted but I was curious how the job market looks today for Geophysics jobs in Calgary and elsewhere (demand/trends in desirability for businesses).

I used to be a Research Geophysicist in Nuclear Monitoring Research. I did tons of fieldwork, and I loved it, but I hurt my back 10 years ago, and have chronic pain. I wonder if a job in processing would be good for me?

He was offf with the starting salary. They now start at 60K (American Dollar) with a bachelors. And with a Masters, i know a few who started at 90K and sometimes 105K. Pretty damn good.

Hi. Totally agree with you, there are 100s of other interesting Earth Sciences jobs out there. Sorry I came over so negative in my comment - I was having a bad (Processing) day (one of many). Don't get me wrong: geology, geophysics, geochem, the Earth Sciences are wonderful - &, it's not really THAT bad a job - but you can't disguise the fact that 90% of a Seismic Processors job is fundamentally dull, repetitive, & (when you have clients screaming at you for their data yesterday) stressful.

I'm pretty sure this guy lost his job right now due to oil prices. That's the problem with such professions.
