I swear I still watch gear videos. I'm broke, my credit card is broke, my house is broke. Yet I'm here for the gear videos.

Sony A7iii, DJI mini 4 pro, insta360 x3, rode wireless pro mics, some cheap tripod I got on offer up. I bought it all at once with no knowledge of this field but learning has been fun.

Kind of the budget version of this: FX30, 16-55 (seriously, this lens is as exciting as a fridge), 15 1.4, mini 3 pro, 10+ years old small Sirui carbon tripod.

HOWEVER, I found a deal of 3x original Sony FZ-100 batteries AND a Pr1me Tri-Charge for less than those three batteries alone would have cost so I am pretty excited to try it out.

2xA7IV, Sigma 16-28, Sigma 24-70, Sony 70-200, Mini 3 Pro, DJI Mic 1, Ulanzi Zero Y Carbon Travel Tripod, DJI Pocket 3
That’s what I’m rocking as of now.
Gets me through all corporate gigs and SoMe-stuff.

Great video, as always 💪🏻

I was just in Japan and upgraded my 16-35mm f4 to the 16-35mm f2.8 GM2 for a steal price of $1500 USD for like new version of it! Everything in Japan is on sale right now!

I started with an a6400 and a couple apsc lenses, upgraded to the a7III when it was used and available and nowa days I am on a FX3 with several full frame lenses. I worked my way up thru client work and tax returns since I started my filming journey in 2019.

Thank you for an informative video! QUESTION: An action camera: please explain the specific scenarios in which you typically use one? Did I hear correctly that you attached it to your drone? Why not simply use the drone's camera? Do you also have a video about the correct lighting (face/background, etc) to be used in your Youtube studio to get a professional effect?

Wow it’s really apparent that these are truly your everyday items for your setup, look at the wear and tear on some of those! Love seeing well used gear on these kind of videos!

My setup:
ZV-E1
Sony 20mm 1.8
Sony 35mm 1.8
Zeiss 85mm 1.8
DJI Pocket 3
DJI Action 4

I'm thinking about adding a standard zoom to my setup to have some versatility when traveling, but overall I'm pretty happy..

I got this camera the other day and it’s awesome! The go pro is still relevant. For what it does, how small land affordable it is.

Intersting overview, would go for the A7C II and the 24-50 f2, 8 for YouTube. I think the majority now is not really vlogging but working from home, a studio or maybe outside but with the camera on a fixed spot. Plus you have an EVF, no overheating in 4K 25 and can keep the camera running forever. I do shoot interviews and those can take easy longer than 30 minutes. Right now i have the R8 and overheating is an issue, so i am really thinking switching to the A7C II.
Have a great weekend, cheers from Germany.

hey! watching your content since 2022 and for all time I love it that's still watching, love your way to tell everything about filmmaking. Would love to know about how you shoot your videos indoor setup like the same frame at the beginning the lighting, the comp, colors everything is perfect. please make a BTS for this if possible.

Great video just found you! I am in a phase of downsizing but ensuring I have good quality. I am not a professional but love photography and video.

I own a ZV-E1 but the overheating issue is quite serious unfortunately. I don't even record in 4k and the camera does get warm after 10-15 minutes, so I'd still recommend the A7SIII or the FX3, which aren't that expensive if bought used.

That’s exactly what’s in my backpack except for ZV body. U use a combination of A1 (stills) and FX3 (video and stills in extreme lowlight which A1 covers with high ISO)

Caged ZV-E1, Samyang 35-150 F2-2.8, Nisi True C VND, Black Mist 1/4.
DJI RS4 Pro (on it’s way).

Thank you, Peter! I always click on the like button even before watching any of your videos and never regret it. I had 2 Sony A7III cameras, then sold one and bought FX30 - which was a huge stepping stone for my own business. Now I'm thinking of selling the second A7III to get the ZV-E1 as a full-frame camera. I have a question regarding the shotgun microphone - would you recommend the Sony ECM-M1 mic? Is it the newer and better version than the ECM-B1M? Thanks!

Great video! Btw, you should add a chapter for microphones (starts at 7:38)

Only thing I would change would be the body. I’d go (and I may be biased lol) Sony a6700. I know it’s a crop, but that 26mp for photo helps. Especially when you don’t lose anything on the video side.
