Here's a quick explanation on your pistons.(Mechanical engineering student) Since it's concave up (think like a bowl that can hold water) this will lower compression as there will now be a larger chamber for the air/fuel mixture. Judging by the video it looks like a very slight dish so it won't drop CR much if at all. The other little notches on the top and bottom of pistons are called valve reliefs which give more piston to valve clearance so your valve doesn't come down and collide with the piston. What I'd be interested to see is the ring landing thickness between the stock and new pistons. That is the space between the top of the piston and the top piston ring. That is what usually breaks and what broke on yours. I'm willing to bet the new piston has slightly thicker ring landings.

Hi Stefan (Polish spelling), Hope it all goes well for you. You can see your heart is in the right place. Unfortunately we do not get the 'Challengers' or 'Chargers' here in Australia. Just from my knowledge: The 'dished' piston tops actually reduce the compression. Perhaps the engine builder installed these for engine longevity knowing that it is going to be turboed. Anyway, again, all the very best.

Domed equals higher compression, flat is meh, dished less compression. But generally less compression you can run more boost! It all has to do with detonation, or predetonation rather
