If the inheritance doesn't go to her son, guess who it goes to? It'll be spread amongst the mothers siblings. To me, that's a huge motive for them to not believe him

Kendall's channel is the warm house on youtube that always has a smoking chimney and hot tea brewing somewhere

I'm on the autism spectrum, and its true that people treat us differently. I'm high functioning, but somehow I've always managed to leave wrong first impressions with people and because of it, I really don't have a group of friends. Its hard to be autistic in a society that doesn't understand or respect you, even fears you.

Maybe I’m just used to being around people on the spectrum and recognizing their nuances, but it really annoys and confuses me that so many people claim Nathan didn’t show emotion. If anything, a lot of these clips of him sounded like he was trying to keep a grip on his emotions. “Have you seen my mom” just breaks my heart.

I've seen SO many videos on this case. My son has Asperger's Syndrome. I fear for him EVER having to interact with police, bc they DON'T have proper skills in dealing with those on the spectrum.

This should be a series, accident or Murder.

I don’t know being stranded for 8 days and the possibility of dying at sea seems like a lot of trouble to go through just to murder your mom 🤷🏻‍♀️

The fact that the aunts think he murdered the grandfather and mother means nothing since money is involved. Family members turn into the most greedy, disgusting liars when money is involved. It is true when a boat sinks it happens in literally a second, and so Nathan's account could be true. His aunts just want ALL of the money. That's all.

The only time he shows emotion is when he says, "I don't hate my aunts." That choked him up a little. I don't think he did it. I think he is hurt by how they are treating him.

I’m torn. There’s some weirdness for sure, but so much of his behavior is very typical of someone on the autism spectrum. Also, often times people with autism are demonized just because people don’t understand them.

As someone who has a child that is on the spectrum, I'm not surprised that he didn't think to use the radio, he was probably hyper focused on "fixing" the problem, this is extremely typical of those on the spectrum... I fully believe this was an accident and he is telling the truth

He didn’t do it. I totally believe that he was hyperfixating on fixing the boat and didn’t realise it was sinking until it did… and by then it was too late to call for help. It’s a very common thing among those on the spectrum. Honestly I have no idea what happened to the mum… but I’m sure she’d be devastated to hear that her family has shut him out like this.
My heart goes out to this poor boy.

When my grandma passed away i got her necklace that she had worn for 30 years and all 3 of my aunts haven't spoken to me since. Family not speaking to/liking other family members does not prove that someone is guilty :/ i am very torn

Am I the only one who doesn’t think he seems very cold or calculating? I understand what Kendall was saying about how people with autism can struggle in social situations, but given how especially stressful all of that media attention must have been, I still thought Nathan came across as sincere and heartbroken. I felt like I could see sadness in his eyes. It must have been incredibly difficult for him to talk to all of those people. I feel like he is being genuine when he speaks

Inheritance is such an easy motive, just because somebody has a rich parent doesn’t mean they want them dead. He was already living at home with his mom so he’d have nothing to gain by murdering her and inheriting her estate. Plus his mom was the only person he had in the world, why would he want her dead?

Being a mama of a child on the spectrum, this breaks my heart. My worst fear is me passing and my son having no one to turn to. I don’t think this young man did anything beside being guilty of being different 💔

His speech doesn’t seem cold to me. It just seems awkward and uncomfortable. It’s also hard for me to believe that he would kill the only person that he really had in his life for social interaction. I feel bad for him.

So the way he describes the sinking is accurate to how boats sink. They don’t sink slowly until the final tip gently dips below the surface like they do in movies. The boat will take on water until it’s buoyant force is zero. The more water that enters the boat, the lower the buoyant force will get until there is more ocean than boat to keep buoyant and it will sink FAST (think of when you were a kid in the bath and you would hold a cup in the water and slowly let the water in until it suddenly sank). It’s perfectly reasonable and not even that unlikely for the boat to swallow his mother if she was helping him try to fix the engine and was below deck. It took the Titanic only 5 minutes to be completely below the surface but the entire sinking process was 2 hours and 40 minutes. And that’s the TITANIC. Their small little boat would have gone down quickly.

Also, one thing people with Autism tend to have in common is their difficulty lying. They don’t feel emotions or social pressures the same as others and they often don’t feel the guilt that makes people lie, so they don’t. I think they were both inexperienced boaters and his mother babied him and wanted to do whatever to make him happy. I don’t think he intentionally killed her but his actions and decisions definitely contributed to the accident that did.

My mom died 8 years ago and her enTIRE family, with whom I'd NEVER had issue, ditched me AND my dad. That family thing bothered me.

His aunts being so sure that it was him is so suspicious to me. Not on Nathan, but on the Aunt's part. Sounds like they want everyone to suspect a certain someone so no one else is being looked into for the grandfathers murder. Also, murder weapons are hidden all the time. Who is to say that whoever murdered the grandfather didn't take the gun with them?

This man ran away from home out of sadness when his horse died. He is innocent.
