In my neighborhood in 2022 a house sold for 900g. Just a month ago. A house same size, 8 houses down from the 900g house so for 610g

This BNN anchor guy is so worried personally that his detached house may lose value that he never fails to say condo segment is bad news. He smacks of his personal bias. Well, he must know that detached house is most expensive or least affordable. It is also prone to climate change issues.
The housing market is all down but it is the condo market that is the most affordable still among the housing segments.

Tory MPs backed communities seeking Liberal housing fund Poilievre vows to cut
A number of Conservative MPs have written letters to the Liberal housing minister asking him to grant their communities funding from a program that Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre this week called disastrous and promised to cancel.
Housing Minister Sean Fraser made the revelation in the House of Commons Tuesday while responding to a question from Poilievre.

What a BS no one can afford to spend millions dollars for a tiny shoes box!

People gotta buy homes. But trust me there aren't many investors in the market. I think all the social media real estate investor gurus are silent for now. Anyone got some free cash after food and mortgage?? Looks like Canada needs it.

Toronto home buyers.
AKA: foreign investors.
Keep giving that protein to the food banks, it'll keep what the market will "bear" artificially represented. All it's doing for you is lowering you taxable income so you can buy more over inflated goods and services.
Don't forget, $400k is the 44% tax bracket so if you only want to find deductions for a 33% tax bracket, you need to donate enough to charity to bring your taxable income under $400k by at least $0.01.
