Review: Roku 4 Our First Look

I was interested in this device. Now since this device has a USB connection I am guessing that I can plug in like an external hard drive to play my media? If so does it support multiple video formats like MKV, MP4, Etc....?

couple questions about sling, when you where streaming espn do you need a monthly subscription or does it stream free? also was that a live stream? I'm trying to convince my bf to cut cable and I know he's not willing to if he can't watch his sports live. I'm new to all this and I'm trying to do as much research as possible. thanks

I'm looking for alternatives to cable and I'm completely new to this. There are thousands of shows available on Roku which seems to be a better, cheaper choice overall, but how updated are the tv episodes on Sling for example?

Problems with my new Roku 4. Roku will send only stereo to my Sony AVR from Netflix and Prime (you have to change the sound setting on the Roku or you get nothing). FireTV and TIVO have no problem. Also 4k only works with the HDMI cable direct to my Sony XBR75X850C and not through my Sony BDVIS1000 AVR. Looks like HDCP 2.2 is the prob. See your site for my full comments and setup.

holy cow, just found this channel. Thanks for all the info. About to dump ATT uverse and so new to this. Gonna miss some stuff, but not worth the money. I have a PS3 for netflix and amazon, but the Wife doesn't like the way it works. Roku is pretty easy?

Some reviewers have complained of loud fan noise. Have you noticed this when playing back videos?

The main feature about this device is 4K content maybe you never spoke on it because your TV was set to 1080

Uh...What About...Uh...4K!!!??? Very thorough review missing clearly its biggest Not good man. Not good at all.
