To answer your question, I own both. So far, VOO has offered a greater return to me, overall.

I've been a VTI investor for years. VOO does have a slightly better return. In my taxable account I'm still adding to VTI, and not selling any of it (not worth it to pay cap gains tax). But in my ROTH, I've sold my VTI (no tax consequences) and buying VOO. If I had to start all over again, I would just start with VOO....like Buffett says just buy the S&P 500 and forget it. He also won the bet with the S&P against the hedge fund on who could get higher returns.

VTI...only because we already own a lot of technology via ETFs and individual stocks. S&P 500 has been on the rise but only due to a few tech companies which is keeping the markets up. We also own SPLG instead of VOO. And happy father's day to you 💙

I bought both and am setting up automatic contributions to them. While they do have overlapping stocks, their goals are different which could be important at some point. Only time will tell. I like this game.

Im all about nvda while the pot is hot. Vti vgt and voo have great weight on nvda. Along with some of the top semiconductors. I choose all three for a safety net and for growth incase i become indecisive and need reliance. If i cant have thousands and millions of shares, I'll invest into those that do. Easiest decison to make in my life!!
