2018 truly deserved best film of the year. Aadujeevitham was made on a huge budget, while such a great visual appeal o '2018' was done using a small budget. The reason is simply politics. When '2018' was made, it didn't glorify communist government for rescue operations, but told the real truth.... how fishermen saved people. Movie even mentioned, opening all dams together overnight without giving alarm to public caused such a huge disaster. These two thinks irked many, especially leftists. When state government gives the award, it's all bound to happen. This year's award was a great joke, nothing else. Ullozhukk was a far better film than Aadujeevitham. Isn't irony, 2018-movie which was sent to Oscars didn't receive any major awards. Also, it broke all collection records till 2023. So, it should have been given the best family entertainer award of last year. Afterall awards were for 2023, not 2024. Maybe because Aadujeevitham was censored last year. Yet '2018' truly deserved more attention at award functions. It's simply politics which came into play. There was a time when only deserved people received this award, not like Filmfare awards which are given based on popularity. But things changed a lot in recent times. BTW, why can't you do a video on achievements of Malayalam cinema in National film awards. It came a great surprise to me, when both awards announced on same day. I strongly doubt it happened before.
