The most real, raw, and legit NYC video I've seen.

I was hoping you'd walk to Arthur Ave, the real Little Italy. Anyway, thanks for this video. I miss Alexander's Dept store on Fordham Rd and Grand Concourse. Back in the day, it was a great place to shop.

Born and raised there until age 12. Back in the 60s it was an extremely dangerous place to live. I had experienced some of my worst nightmares there. By the time we moved out (something I only thought the rich could do) I was so relieved. Now I would probably visit for nostalgia purposes. Not sure if my old building still exists on Intervale Avenue. At the same time I had fond memories growing up there. I was starting to hang out with the local hoods and that's when my father made the wise decision to leave.

This is a quality video, and the best I've seen of it's kind. It makes me feel like I'm walking beside the camera man. Great job!

I’ve always wanted to see New York but I’ve never been. This was really cool to watch. Thank you.

the bronx has really changed in the 90s and late 80s you would not find me out there at night lol

I just appreciate the walking tours of these places to see what they look like, as for living there I don't think I will.

I went to the Bronx to see the old Yankee stadium and then along some of the main roads. People were friendly but it was during the day. I am from Australia and could not resist going there. I was not game enough to go at night though.

That’s me and my boy DJ Clutch mixing it up on the Concourse

I used to live right across from where you started the video, and I’m glad I moved on. I don’t miss it at all, but you really captured the essence of Fordham Road. It can get quite crowded and hectic during the day! It’s mostly hardworking people just going about their lives and holding on to the hope of a better future.

So much beauty in so much despair. But there is also a rythem and a love that cannot be compared. Boogie down Bronx all the time always.

There used to be a Blimpie's sandwich shop near the southwest corner of Fordham Road at Webster Avenue in the 1970s that I used to go to. Close to it or right next to it was the famous Cousin's Records shop.

Grew up there in the 80s as a kid to Chinese immigrant parents - just a few blocks away from Fordham Rd 4 train station and from the old Alexandria (then became Caldor) dept store where I got lost as a kid. My dad and bro got robbed at gun point but nothing of value was taken (they knew to carry decoys). It was just a cheap place to live until you can get out of there but the people who lived there were (and still are) honest, good hearted, hard working people. There was a small enclave of asians in the neighborhood back then - unsure if there are any left.

It is much safer nowadays but you still need to put your head on a swivel and have some street smarts. However, don't forget that 99% of the folks there are just like you and me.

That is a lot of stimulus for a 40 minute walk. Thanks for sharing!

Years ago the stores didn't need steel shutters protecting them, why is it not that way now.?

Great video ! Appreciated that you stopped to film some cool details once a while.

This guy made sure when he crossed that first park not to turn his camera to the right. Because he would have saw all those crackheads and homeless sitting right in that area. I noticed every time how he would avoid turning the camerain certain areas. But then focused it in areas that were more pleasant. He avoided showing where people normally hang out. He avoided showing where drug dealers sit on corners in deal drugs. He avoided the crackhead prostitutes. The neglected garbage pick-up areas. Making things look good is the best way to keep things the same. That was definitely not a pleasant walk if you used your peripheral.
