Strange that nobody mentions the m270 but the himars is always talked about.... Seems like the m270 is considerably more deadly and more survivable

That sound will bring nightmares to anyone being on receiving end those older unguided rockets. Maybe inaccurate to today’s standards but the psychological effects of them landing at random is bigger than actual physical damage.

The German variant of the HIMARS (MARS II) has another big advantage. It can fire antitank mines. Imagen dozens of antitankmines raining down from the sky and there is practically nothing you can do against it.

Question, why does MLRS launcher launchers like the Grad or TOS-1 shoot rockets at around 120 RPM? From what I am aware of, the purpose of a MLRS is to dump as much ordinance as quickly as possible while suppression would be better suited for gun artillery. So why not dump them almost instantaneously, like with air launched rocket pods? (I know you cant fire them all at once since the rockets may collide with one another mid air)

The HIMARS is a precision strike weapon. It’s not a MLRS that eastern armies are very familiar with. Give them some Grads so Ukrainians can “celebrate” some.

Yet himars is the one that stole the glory first I’ve heard of the superior system and they have 14 of them, now we just need to give them the rockets that can compete with the missiles given by Iran that have a 300 km range !
