The "Spiraling up through the crack in the sky
" part is one of my favorites parts of any music ever so fucking epic

I can only hope that in the long march of history, true brilliance like this doesn't get lost beneath the avalanche of mediocrity that is commercial pop music. Mastodon deserves to be in the same league as Tool, Black Sabbath, and Led Zeppelin. Their music is a spiritual and emotional experience.

This song is a contender for the one of greatest metal* songs ever written.

One of the greatest prog rock/metal albums of the 21st century. You kind of just sit back and listen in awe that they composed and came up with something so unique.

Happy first decade to this masterpiece. I became a fan during the era of this album. Mastodon is my favorite band and looking back now at the 10 years of being a fan I haven’t heard a single bad song. This song has my favorite Mastodon lyrics, “I’m spiraling up to the crack in the sky. Leaving material world behind.”

This is probably Troy's best bass line in their whole discography

I may not listen to much Mastodon anymore however this song in particular is really personal to me.
I always listen to it every January 23rd as it was the song I was listening when I heard my grandmother had passed away.
This song, to me, is dedicated to her memory.

This album, for me, is the lastest n greatest, classic rock album of my era. Glad they played it live in its entirety. One of the best live shows I've personally been fortunate to witness. A rare masterpiece in the age of musical mediocrity.

Masters of the art rock genre. Just like Queensryche / Tool & Pink Floyd. A very rare band. This is their magnum opus. An 11 minute classic invoking Black Sabbath!!!

When I returned from iraq in 2009, the first two things I bought were this album and a bottle of jd. What an incredible album.

Mastodon and Periphery will always have an incredibly special place in my heart. I was introduced to both bands, on separate occasions, by my very best friend Dylan. He passed away a few years ago. I can finally listen to them again and hold it together. I'm so happy to have this music in my life. It brings back a flood of loving memories that I'll hold onto until I leave this world.
Love the ones close to you, you never know when that will change.
!! LONG LIVE METAL !!!! <3
