The new Zenbook S 13 OLED is new for 2022 and it comes rocking AMD's new Ryzen 7 6800U CPU. Thanks to Storyblocks for sponsoring this video. In battery life and benchmarks, this is simply the best ultra portable laptop / ultrabook I've seen in 2022. Even when we take into account the Intel i7-1260P vs Ryzen 7 6800U benchmarks.

I was searching exactly 6800u laptops and HC just uploaded one!

Now if Asus would finally release their new models, I'd actually buy one.

12:57 a higher than 100% colour gamut generally means that they are comparing the gamut volumes, so Asus is probably right on their claim of 133% sRGB.

13:13 - the fact that it's glossy is what makes it good. Glossy surface, unlike matte is completely smooth and transparent, which makes the image rich, bright, and much more natural-looking compared to matte. Dave 2D covered that recently and it's a night and day difference. Now what I don't understand why is it ONLY present in ultrabooks and not in gaming laptops. Especially considering that ultrabooks are often used outdoors and gaming laptops are almost always used indoors where you have control over your lighting conditions.

Really nice to see some non-6900H laptops being reviewed. I'm still holding out for a 6600U laptop though. My Excavator dual core is just barely hanging on!!

For a thin and light laptop with single heatpipe + single fan, the temps and fan loudness are pretty much expected, and I'm pretty sure the performance (and temps) can get better if they had same cooling config as yoga 9i

This video is awesome. My dad is gonna need a new laptop this year, and his whole life he's never been able to use a full desktop, always needing a thin and light. This new gen of ryzen processors looks amazing in workloads, and while the fact that integrated graphics have come such a long way is not something my dad will care much about, it blows me away and is still an added bonus. I'll definitely be on the lookout for a 6000 U series laptop for him.

"spend responsibly" is such a great outro message for a review video.
Love what you're doing, keep it up :)

Always looking forward to a HC laptop review. They are short, informative and gets straight to the point. Facts are laid out in a systematic manner and the review is unbiased. I bought a few products after watching your reviews.

A long time subscriber here, keep up the good work!

This review will be relevant this December when the laptop will probably be available

The BIOS takes a screenshot of everything displayed on the screen every 2 minutes, and overlays it over an average. It basically stores a bitmap of the average amount of light that's been emitted in its lifetime and then you have a single slider that controls how much of the inverted picture you want to display on top to cancel out burn in!

I´ve been using mine for over one year now (Zenbook 13 UX325E with OLED) and it doesn´t have any burnmarks and I´ve been using it a lot. Asus really did a great job with last years laptops and i only exept the best from them and i´m pretty sure the new one with the AMD is even much better.

Also what I´ve noticed on many HP and Lenovo laptops is, that they tend to lose quality pretty fast with annoying fans activating randomly, software issues like the brightness regulator doesnt work anymore or you cant change the volume anymore. I must say I didn´t have even one struggle with my laptop troughout this whole last year and i´m really impressed and also was never dissapointed by asus unlike every other tech company.

In the world of OLED, we need more of black background videos. I love the way you show your statistics

Both Asus and Lenovo are God awful when it comes to actually making their new lineups widely available.
I was looking into a certain Lenovo Laptop they had announced last September, only to find out it was discontinued after 2 weeks after it first went on sale February of this year.
I wish reviewers would call out these companies not only on their shitty availability of their products, but also on how their product lineups are way to bloated and redundant, especially when potential buyers struggle to find the one they actually want

Ryzen 7 6800U is actually a very very nice Chip. it'd be cool if the base model XPS 15 shipped with it

Glad to hear you criticizing the glossy display: to me it's almost a no-no. What makes me infuriating is that I own a 48" OLED TV by LG, it's matte finished and it's so beautiful to look at; on a laptop it'd be ever more obvious to go this way.

In addition, it's now available the flip version, which I'd choose because of the 1in2 form factor and the stylus ready display; sadly, besides the glossy display, they put the Intel 1260p cpu instead of the 6800u inside. Don't know why...

For me, the most important part is battery life. The fact that AMD crushes Intel so heavily on both light & heavy loads in respect to battery life is the seller for me.
Intel is busy playing catchup when it comes to power efficiency, and it shows in the test results.

Nice RDNA2 graphics upgrade. These APU's need better cooling to show their max performance. Good detailed review 👍

I've had this laptop for about a week and haven't experienced any trackpad issues you've mentioned. I've disabled cursor acceleration in mouse settings and it's been just fine for me.
