Try singing a little lower. Try singing along to the original with the lyrics, and sing the same bit over and over again at different pitches until it sounds like it "clicks"--I think that might work.

A good place to start might be the instrumental intro, which has the same melody as the refrain. Sing the refrain tune to it, and try to match the piano melody.

Alternatively, buy a pitch-recognizing tuner and tune yourself to "C, G, A, A G, A, A C, F F" for the refrain.

it seems you're in tune with yourself, but not with the music. You're singing in A-flat major. Sing a little bit lower and you'll be back in F major (or uptune the accompaniment three half steps to A-flat major).
