Lady Gaga's bad romance fit the criteria first a hit in 2010 and the reentered hot 100 in 2016 after her superbowl

"Stand by me" was actually covered by Thimon and Pumba, so he is not actually wrong. They also did the "Jummy Jummy" song.

You could say Bohemian rhapsody blew up a third time in 2018 when the movie came out

This is a really cool and fresh concept, props to whoever came up with it

The reason for Tom Odell's "Another Love" to blow up again were TikTok videos about the Iranian people protesting for their freedom.
They used the lines: "And if somebody hurts you, I wanna fight
But my hands been broken one too many times
So I'll use my voice, I'll be so fucking rude"

He even dedicated the song to the Iranian people during a live performance. Under this sound you can find a lot of people standing up, using their voice and shaving their heads in solidarity. To me, this is what makes platforms like TikTok super important and valuable.

Love How Joel brings the skepticism, August the calmness, and Jonas the (unintentional) humor to the videos ❤

TBH, as a busy person, I'd listen to random songs from my childhood quicker than re-watch a movie or TV show. I always put aside re-watching things, because I prefer to discover new things and I usually remember the plot twists/major events in movies/shows, which makes me less interested in re-watching them. But I often listen to music I used (and still) love while working or doing chores.

Anyway, love the concept of this vid~

John Lennon's Imagine was released as a single in 1971 (USA) and charted (#3), released as a single in 1975 (UK) and charted (#6), and then charted at #1 after his death in 1980.

It's weird to me how much an app can have an influence on real life

Joel saying you can only appreciate purple rain "ironically" hurt me on a personal level

“All I Want For Christmas Is You” and “Running Up That Hill” are the first two songs that came to mind when reading this video’s title

Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas" became a chart-topper in 2020, 26 years after it was initially released. It's one of the wildest re-entries.

Joel: I think it had an unclear melody

The song literally named unchained melody: 👁👄👁

“All I want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey “Last Christmas” by Wham! and “Thriller” by Michael Jackson always re enter the charts every year lmao

Technically, I Will Always Love You "blew up" 3 times. First in the 70s with Dolly Parton's version, then the Whitney version. Both hit No. 1 in their eras.

What about master of puppets ?
Also featured in stranger things, and also featured in epic scene
Also returned to charts and even topped billboard for some time

Wow, was NOT prepared for Unchained Melody right now... just finished rereading Flowers From 1970 yesterday and saw a video on my tiktok about it using the song and when it started playing all I could see was "now you know that once upon a time, in the same room, of the same house, fifty years apart, Clay and George Davidson had loved each other" and I cried again!!!! Was not prepared for that crossover

It saddens me when I hear timeless classics like "I will always love you" being called "meme songs" just because gen Z makes fun of them on some dumb app, all the while the current "hits" are being forgotten after a few months because there's nothing special about them

Benny Mardones song "Into the Night" also fits. First charted at number 11 in the US in 1980 and then recharted in 1989 and peaked at 20. A One hit wonder that charted with the same song twice.

I would love to watch Joel and the guys react to melodramatic love ballads and their music videos... songs like Hero (Enrique Iglesias), Grenade (Bruno Mars), Apologise (Timbaland, One Republic) come to mind
